“The rest of the story…”

There isn’t much more to tell aside from what has already been said. Kiromir opened the combat with a severe blow to one of the guards, but all members of the group soon joined in. Theros Ironfist, in particular, was the star of the combat one-shotting 3 out of the 5 guards, causing them to drop to the ground, writhing in pain.

Within a minute of engaging them, the party had killed 4 of the guards, and had the lieutenant cornered in the guard shack, where he was successfully holding them off. Kiromir attempted to discuss terms of surrender, but Viserion killed the remaining guard, and quickly engaged the lieutenant in combat, but was almost immediately dropped with a massive blow from the guardsman’s longsword. Kiromir stepped in, and began to fight defensively, preventing the foe from finishing the job.

Meanwhile, Theros dragged Viserion away from the cornered man’s reach, and Mithrandian looted the bodies, and watched for reinforcements.

The combat was ended when Viserion recovered from his wounds, and suggested to Theros they set the building on fire. The lieutenant’s resolve to wait for reinforcements gave way to fear that he would be roasted alive, and gave up his sword. Viserion, still in great pain from the wound that he’d been given by the officer quarreled briefly with Kiromir, who eventually agreed to let him knock the guardsman unconscious, which he did. The party quickly finished looting the bodies, took the officer with them and relieved him of his studded leather armor.

The party then quickly left the town in their dust, still looking for the lowbloods who had just carved their way through 5 of the town’s elite guardsmen.
